The question is a &quot;no brainer.&quot; Yes!

Of course it is still the &quot;received wisdom&quot;, fuelled by the Tories and the Tory press, that to strike is inherently irresponsible and wrong.

Whatever we think of the main thrust of the legislation on union action we now know that compliant  workforces will not down tools at the blast of a Bolshie shop stewards whistle. We know that industrial action follows as properly held ballot. 

The turnout and majorities by the BA workforce in recent ballots has been impressive. Hair splitting legal rulings to prevent the action can only help to harden the situation.</description>
